Everyone from Murphys Homes Is Invited to the Chili Cook Off

Go to the chili cook off near Murphys homes.Kitchens in Murphys homes are filled with delicious aromas as chefs prepare for the 2017 Chili Cook Off. In its seventh year, this event brought to town by Soroptimist International of Calaveras County is now a treasured tradition. Folks line up with forks ready for tasting on Saturday, May 6th. Bubbling pots filled with all kinds of chili goodness are ready for judging from 12 to 3 p.m. First, second and third place ribbons are awarded for best chili and best theme. Recipes passed from generation to generation are sure to be in the house. 

Help Raise Funds for Families Living in the Calaveras County Real Estate Area

Folks are prepared to come hungry. A $10 admittance fee gets residents from Murphys homes in the door of the Murphys Hotel and into the chili. Live entertainment by the Plan B Band will be playing throughout the event lending to a lively vibe.

While the competition remains friendly, folks are serious about their chili. Rivalry is the name of the game and boasting comes with the territory. Those in attendance can join in the competitive fun as great prizes are scheduled to be raffled off. Proceeds from the event benefit community women and children living around the Calaveras County real estate area.
