Bear Valley is elevated (6,600 feet) and so is the fun. Ideally located for prime lodging and camping amid natural hiking and bike trails, fishing, boating, swimming and golf during the spring and summer months. In winter, Bear Valley may be the end of the road, but it’s the gateway to a winter nirvana. Bear Mountain boasts four peaks above 8,000 feet. Twelve lifts transport you to some of the best alpine skiing and snowboarding in the Sierra with long runs (the longest being 1.5 miles), two half-pipes and a beginner pipe. Or you can escape into the wilderness on miles of trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
